Freddy started gymnastics in 1983, and in 1985 entered Hamburg Germany’s Team. The same year he became Hamburg’s Champion and maintained his title for four consecutive years. In 1986, he qualified for the Nationals and won the Junior National Championships in 1987 and 1988. In 1989 he qualified for the International competition, representing Germany against Holland and Italy. He became the 4th All-around at that meet, and qualified for finals on Floor-Ex, Rings, and High-bar, where he earned two medals. In 1987, he earned his coaching certificate from the German’s Gymnastics Federation (DTB), as well as a judging certificate. He received an honor letter from the president of Germany for winning the High-school Championships for five consecutive years.

In 1990 he began his stay in the United States. In 1992, he received his U.S. Safety Certificate. He has worked at S.C.A.T.S., U.S.G.T.C., South Cal Gymnastics, My Gym, and at Fun And Fit Gymnastics, where he was responsible as the Head-Instructor. He received a BS in Physiologica-Science form UCLA in 1999, and also competed as the starting gymnast for the UCLA Bruins from 1994-1998. Freddy was a key factor in the Bruins’ victory at the 1995, 1996, and 1997 USAG Nationals, where he placed 3rd on still rings. He also competed in the 1995 Peter Vidmar International Invitational against several U.S. Club teams, Canada, Mexico, Germany, and Austria, where he managed to win the 3rd place on the Rings. In 1996 Freddy qualified for the World Championships and competed in Puerto Rico’s World Championships. He left his mark on the sport by performing a new strength move on the Rings (performed for the first time in the world). Freddy also has 2 All-American titles. Freddy graduated from UAG School of Medicine with an M.D. degree in December of 2003, and plans on becoming a reconstructive plastic surgeon.
