Originally from the Midwest, Peter began his passion for gymnastics in junior high school at the Evanston Illinois YMCA.
He would go on to earn a scholarship at Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana and become captain of the gymnastics team.
As a competitor for the IU gymnastics team Peter was Big Ten conference champion (FX) two consecutive years in 1977 and 1978,
won a total of six individual Big Ten medals and three individual bronze medals in Houston Texas at the 1978 AAU Senior Elite National Championships.
In 1978 Peter was selected to the NCAA All America Team.
Indiana University honored Peter in 1978 with two of it's highest student-athlete awards: the LG Balfour Award for outstanding performance in athletics
and the J. Gimbel Award given annually to one IU student athlete for accomplishment in academics, athletics and positive contributions for the University.
These accomplishments earned him a spot on the university's I-Men's Wall of Honor. Peter holds Bachelor of Science (1978 Marketing) and Master of Business
Administration (1980 Finance) degree's from Indiana University.
Peter served as the assistant head coach for the Indiana University Women and Men's gymnastics teams in 1979 and 1980 while pursuing graduate degree.
Other coaching experience includes six years on the staff at Tsukara Camp (now Lake Owen Lodge-Woodward Gymnastics) 1974-1980, Le Club Gymnastics 1990-2000, and
the past two years with the California Aerials and joined Gymnastics World in 2004.
Peter's coaching abilities range from recreational to competitive for both boys and girls and is currently involved with our Girls's Team and recreational programs.
Peter lives in Woodland Hills California with his wife Misao and two children, son Kenji, and daughter Maya.
